WordPress Installation

WordPress is known for its quick and simple installation. There are many one click installation tools for WordPress as well in the market. Some providers give WordPress as stack download with all requirements for direct download. And, you can install manually too. The installation steps are mentioned below:
1] You need following tools to download WordPress.
1.1] Server with WebServer Installed OR Access (Host domain, Username, Password) to your web server (via shell or FTP)
1.2] Text editor
1.3] FTP Client
1.4] WebBrowser
2] Check whether WebHost/ Server has the minimum requirements for WordPress.
2.1] PHP version 5.2.4 or greater Installed
2.2] MySQL version 5.0 or greater Installed with your Database (DB) Name, Username, Password, Hostname, and role set to ‘All Privileges’
2.3] WebServer like Apache HTTP (mod_rewrite), Nginx, IIS, or any WebServer installed that can run PHP version above
2.4] Your Host Web Domain’s WebRoot Username and Password Details
2.4] Create a new website directory with local or internet domain name, username/ password, and Other Website details after securing web domain for access either through .htaccess/ .htpassword/ ipaddress blocks in Linux OR Website Authentication/ NTFS Security in Windows
2.5] Your Hosted Email Server Details OR Your Email Server Details (email address, username, password, POP3/SMTP Port) to have email section active
3] Download the latest release from the WordPress site.
4] Uncompress the WordPress file into the WebRoot folder (using FTP for Host or directly WebRoot folder for your server) or where you want to install it. For Example: http://www.example.com OR http://www.example.com/blog/ OR ‘C:/YOUR/WEB/ROOT/FOLDER/PATH/’.
5] To install WordPress, open the localhost/ internet domain WordPress Installation Link from your browser (install.php).
http://www.example.com/wp-admin/install.php – Hosted Domain
http://localhost/wp-admin/install.php – localhost
6] To set up DB needed for WordPress (can be done separately/ manually), you have to edit the wp-config.php, OR you can do this directly from ‘wp-admin/setup-config.php’. Enter your DB details (DB Name, Username, Password, Host, and enter Table Prefix: ‘wp_’).
7] Follow the instructions of Installation on the screen for Website Login and Privacy details mentioned below.
7.1] Enter Details for your Website (Site Title, Website Username, Password).
7.2] Select Privacy option whether you want to appear in Google search engines. Choose as per your requirement.
