We are seeking an experienced, forward thinking Front-end Lead Developer whose skillset will strengthen our development team and willing to lead our efforts to modernize our development environment.  As a Front-end Lead Developer, you will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to collaborate on technical specifications, implement and support site features that will enhance the end user experience of our multi-site eCommerce platform.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a team attitude, mentor developers, as well as create and maintain documentation for coding standards and codebase structure for our development environment.


Responsibilities

As a Web Developer Lead, you will:



  • Collaborate and communicate with internal stakeholders and development teams to create value-added technical solutions to our eCommerce platform

  • Build the community of developers on our team by sharing and training in new technology or methods as discovered, studied, or invented during personal learning and training

  • Develop and support semantic code for consumer-facing websites within a multi-site platform—troubleshoot problems and implement updates and enhancements following established processes and accessibility standards and usability best practices

  • Evaluate, research, and estimate proposed enhancements to assist in the planning and execution of development

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and debug issues as necessary in a timely and thorough manner

  • Create and maintain documentation supporting codebase structure, coding standards and workflows

  • Explore, learn, and progress in knowledge of front-end technology for self and team

Qualifications

We seek people with these qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in either Graphic Design or Computer Science/IT, or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of experience building and supporting online experiences

  • Proficiency in modern front-end development HTML, CSS, JavaScript, working with APIs and JSON data structure

  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git or other version control system, VS Code or like IDE and Code editor and extensions for collaboration and code management

  • Adept at debugging in multiple browsers, proficient with debugging tools

  • Intrinsically motivated self-learner who values supporting others and getting things done
