The Sr. Web Developer will participate in the development of a large-scale business to consumer eCommerce platform as well as participate on the design, creation and implementation of high visibility, market-leading site.  This position will have the opportunity to mentor other resources, introduce new processes and procedures, ensure and conform to best practices, and provide tactical leadership in project implementation.   This position is a hands-on PHP/Laravel development position.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Perform technical tasks related to development life cycles; including database design, objected-oriented design, and PHP/Laravel. The Senior Web Developer will also be required to perform code and QA reviews and develop technical documentation based on industry standards.

• Develop high level technical design for defined tasks

• Analyze requirements and define technical designs, including class objects and process flows as required.

• Develop prototype classes and other base class objects

• Lead the team in the maintenance of requirements and technical documentation

• Mentor other developers 

• Maintain knowledge and improve team wide knowledge sharing

• Participate in requirements reviews with business stakeholders, providing appropriate feedback and guidance

• Work with Tech Leads in the development of timelines and milestones

• Introduce processes and procedures for the improvement of the quality of the application and efficiency of the department

Job Qualifications: 

• University degree or college diploma in the field of Computer technology

• 4-8 years’ work experience in an object-oriented development environment

• Experience working with the LAMP stack

• PHP(4-7+years), Laravel Framework (3+ years preferred), JavaScript, (Vue JS Experience is a plus), knowledge of design patterns and best practices.

• Strong design and implementation skills

• MySQL or Relational Database / SQL 

• Operating systems experience with Linux (ubuntured hat, etc. a plus), Bash Scripting (a plus)

• Proven working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including PHP, Apache, Laravel

• Technically competent with various software IDEs such as PHP Storm, VS Code

• Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

• Is flexible and can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating, with a strong work ethic

• Written and oral communication skills
