About UpdraftPlus

At UpdraftPlus we make plugins for WordPress that help our customers to backup, restore, clone, secure and optimize their WordPress websites.

We have a strong team of creative and innovative developers which is growing fast. Our growth has largely been down to the strength of our products with our plugins being some of the most highly rated plugins on WordPress.

Job Description

PHP and JavaScript WordPress Plugin Developer

Location: We’re based in Wales, UK, but this job is also open to freelancer developers around the world!

Start date: ASAP

We have an exciting opportunity for a Web Developer with excellent PHP and/or JS and ideally WordPress experience to join a growing, ambitious team to help develop further one of the world’s fastest growing and most-installed WordPress plugins, UpdraftPlus (see www.updraftplus.com).

Active on over 3 million websites, the company’s product is also the highest rated of its kind, and the most installed plugin owned by a UK company.

You will play a leading role in the company’s aim to continue to be the dominant player in the plugin industry.

You’d be working together with a small team of others involved in development and testing.

Responsibilities breakdown:

Our needs divide into the following areas, and your exact responsibilities will depend on your experience, how this fits with other members of the team and subject to discussion and agreement!

You’ll definitely need experience with:

  • PHP – you’d be coding UpdraftPlus or WP Optimize, plus fragments for managing the website as well as UpdraftCentral.

  • WordPress plugin development – ideally you’ll have a bit of experience of this, but if not a willingness to learn.
It would be nice if you have experience with:

  • JavaScript – a smaller part of UpdraftPlus, but much bigger part of UpdraftCentral.

  • GitHub / GitLab / Git – nice to have, but can be learnt quickly by good developers used to alternatives like SVN.

Company Benefits:

We trust our employees to work autonomously. You won’t be micro-managed and you’ll be trusted to work remotely whilst using your time as effectively as possible.

Rather work from 8am-4pm, or perhaps you’d prefer the traditional 9am-5pm? Let’s discuss your needs during your interview and figure out how you best enjoy finding that perfect work/life balance.

Down-time is important. You work hard and deserve a sufficient amount of holiday to help recharge your batteries! With UpdraftPlus, you’ll start on 25 days a year plus the 8 standard bank holidays.

To do the best job you’ll need the best tools! We will discuss with you everything you’ll need to do your job before you start your first day.

Need any learning and development?  Chat to us and we’ll see what we can do.  We are committed to investing in all of our employees, so if there are any books, online tools or courses you think would be beneficial, we will do our best to make sure you get them.

If we’ve captured your attention and would like to apply, please send your C.V. and portfolio over to Kelly Martin at kmartin@updraftplus.com
